There is something really creepy happening at The Gladstone Hotel tonight. If you dare, you can trek down to Queen and Gladstone with your sleeping bag for a slumber party that will include a “Blood Ball” (???), something described as “Old Women Shooting Guns” (????!!!) and an activity(?) called “Poop Your Pants”. These happenings will be intertwined with ghost stories and double dog scary dares that will involve a “bleeding hat”.
If you get hungry you can eat the “Pus Pizza” on offering, but be warned, this PIZZA MAY EAT YOU!! (Yep, we have no idea.) What’s even weirder? Something called “The Astral Project” will teach you how to have an out-of-body experience so that you can transport yourself into Mayor Rob Ford’s shower. Great! We’ve always wanted to know what lathering soap feels like in Rob Ford’s body!
Who the heck is throwing this all night bash? Part of the SummerWorks Live Art series, Dare Night Lock Down is a two day event, organized and presented by experiential art collective, Mammalian Diving Reflex, and teen performance artists, The Torontonians. It’s a free happening! So if getting scared shitless and eating cheese-pus pizza sounds like an AWESOME time, rally your friends and be prepared to freak out all night!!
In the morning, the sleepover gang will wander to Dufferin Grove Park for a “Mourning Wiener Feast” cookout breakfast. This will be followed by a basketball challenge.
